U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) allows temporary flexibility in some food package labeling

To our valued customers and consumers:

A few weeks ago, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced that it will allow limited and temporary flexibility in some food package labeling. As some of you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to shortages of some food ingredients that might normally result in changes to ingredient labels.

The FDA is allowing minor substitutions to non-characterizing ingredients without requiring new labels because the time needed to produce compliant packaging could cause consumer shortages. At the same time, the FDA has cautioned that any ingredient substitution that impacts the safety of the food, especially any changes to allergenic ingredients, is not permissible.

We are pleased to let you know that this FDA flexibility will have no effect on No Nuts! nut-free protein and energy bars. Our current ingredients and nutritional values won’t change. Our labels will always match our recipes. Our allergenic call-out of SOY content will also remain in place.

We are proud of our “better for you” brand and the nutritional benefits it brings to families looking or healthier, more nutritious snacks. No Nuts! bars are made in a nut-free, gluten-free facility that adheres to the highest standards of U.S. FDA and Health Canada food manufacturing, sanitation, and inspection standards.

We want you to know that

- We have plenty of No-Nuts bars in inventory, ready to fill orders.
- We are open for on-line orders as well as through ACOSTA, DOT FOODS, and our distributors.
- Our ingredients won’t change and our labels will accurately tell you what you’re getting.

It’s time for something better. We appreciate your continued business.

-No Nuts
